On the occasion of President Xi Jinping’s election as General Secretary of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Vanuatu President Nikenike Vurobaravu sent a letter of congratulations to President Xi.

President Vurobaravu wrote that he is confident that under the right guidance of His Excellency Xi Jinping, the CPC will continue to unite and lead the Chinese people to achieve much greater development achievements, and play a much more important role in the international community. He looks forward to working together with Xi to build a closer comprehensive strategic partnership.

Vanuatu political party leaders also sent congratulatory letters to General Secretary Xi Jinping. They stated that on the basis of the one China principle, they stand ready to strengthen dialogue, exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, expand practical cooperation between the two countries across the board, and promote Vanuatu-China comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.
