On September 30th, the Chinese Embassy hosted a function to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. President of the Republic of Vanuatu, H.E. Nikenike Vurobaravu, Acting Prime Minister Johnny Koanapo, along with government ministers, members of parliament, representatives of diplomatic corps, international organizations, representatives from the Chinese community, Chinese-funded institutions, totaling about 300 people, attended the event.
In his remarks, Ambassador Li Minggang reviewed the tremendous achievements of China over the past 75 years, particularly in the context of Chinese modernization. Ambassador Li expressed China's willingness to work with Vanuatu to implement the strategic consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, deepen all-weather and all-round friendly cooperation, and jointly build a China-Vanuatu community with a shared future in the new era.
President Vurobaravu congratulated China on its National Day, giving positive remarks on Vanuatu-China relations, and reaffirming Vanuatu's commitment to the One-China principle and the continuous enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
All guests expressed their best wishes for China's prosperity and for the enduring friendship between China and Vanuatu. The function was covered by Vanuatu's major media.
