On Oct 9th 2024, the handover ceremony of the China-Aid Solar E-Classroom was successfully held in Santo East School, Luganville.
The Classroom, which worth about 8.2 million Vatu(69,000USD), is donated by the Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu to the Santo East School. It only took 16 days for the building of the classroom by the Chinese company Haitech.
The classroom is digital, providing latest ICT technology with laptops for teachers and students, as well as interactive Flat Panel Display. Secondly, it’s green, with solar panels powering lights and air-conditioners, it can work for 8 hours off-grid. Thirdly, it’s safe and resilient. In consideration of the weather conditions in Vanuatu, the classroom is designed and built to resist earthquake and strong gales.”
It is the first China-Aid Solar E-Classroom built in Vanuatu and South Pacific Region. During the handover ceremony, the representative from Haitech showcased the features and the capabilities of the E-Classroom, with the participation of the students.
