On 25 October, Ambassador Li Minggang met with Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Director General Leonard Louma.

Ambassador Li gave a comprehensive introduction to the success of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He said that the CPC has united and led the people to complete the First Centenary Goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and is marching in steady strides to realize the Second Centenary Goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects by the middle of this century. China is willing to strengthen cooperation with countries in the region for common development.

Director General Louma congratulated President Xi Jinping on his election as General Secretary of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the CPC on the success of its 20th National Congress. He said that China’s development achievements have attracted worldwide attention, and China’s development experience is worth learning from for regional island countries to explore development paths that suit their national conditions.
