Ambassador Li Minggang Meets with Vanuatu’s Foreign Minister Jotham Napat

On 11November, Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Li Minggang met with Vanuatus Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade Jotham Napat.Both sides had in-depth exchanges on further promoting the development of China-Vanuatu relations.

Ambassador Li read out and handed over a congratulatory message from Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the Peoples Republic of China, to Foreign Minister Napat. Ambassador Li said that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vanuatu. Over the past 40 years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, the China-Vanuatu comprehensive strategic partnership has been deepening and become a model of mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation between developing countries. At the new historical starting point, China is willing to work with Vanuatu to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and advance the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation,so as to better benefit the two countries and two peoples.


Minister Napat asked Ambassador Li to convey his sincere thanks and greetings to H.E. Wang Yi.He said that Vanuatu attaches great importance to the development of Vanuatu-China relations, and will stay firmly committed to the oneChina policy. Taking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new starting point, Vanuatu is willing to strengthen dialogue and communication between the two countries, and deepen practical cooperation in various fields, so as to promote the Vanuatu-China comprehensive strategic partnership to be at the forefront of countries in the region.
