On December 14, 2023, Ambassador Li Minggang met with Vanuatu Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Matai Seremaiah.

Ambassador Li conveyed New Year's greetings from Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to Seremaiah. Ambassador Li said that this year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Vanuatu. Over the past year, China-Vanuatu relations have made solid progress under the guidance of the leaders of the both countries. Political mutual trust has been continuously enhanced, and fruitful results have been achieved in practical cooperation, people-to-people exchanges and other fields. China is willing to work with Vanuatu to continue to promote the bilateral relations.

Seremaiah expressed satisfaction with the development of Vanuatu-China relations and thanked China for its in-time help when Vanuatu suffered from severe cyclone and other difficulties. Vanuatu will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and looks forward to expanding cooperation with China to help Vanuatu's economic and social development.
