Ambassador Li Minggang attended the handover ceremony of medical supplies donated by China to Vanuatu

On January 11, 2024, Ambassador Li Minggang attended and addressed at the handover ceremony of  medical supplies donated by China to Vanuatu. Vanuatu Minister of Health John Qetu and other officals attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Li said that since the 1980s, China and Vanuatu have cooperated in the medical field, and more than 200 Chinese doctors have come to Vanuatu to provide medical services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Vanuatu have helped each other and worked together to fight against the pandemic. The medical supplies provided this time include advanced equipment such as treatment apparatus, exchange vehicle, electrical cardiac defibrillator, and so on, which will further enhance Vanuatus medical and health service capabilities, benefit more people in Vanuatu, and jointly build a China-Vanuatu community with a shared future in the field of health.

John Qetu thanked China for providing a large amount of medical supplies and said that China has always supported the development of medical and health services in Vanuatu and safeguarded the health and safety of the people of Vanuatu, for which the Vanuatu government and people highly appreciate and express heartfelt gratitude. Vanuatu will work with China to promote the development of practical cooperation in the medical field and achieve more fruitful results.
