On June 23, 2025, H.E. Ambassador Li Minggang jointly with H.E. President Nikenike Vurobaravu, Hon. Acting Prime Minister Johnny Konapo, Hon. Minister of Infrastructure and Public Utilities Xavier Harry, Hon. Minister of Health, John Tari Quetu and Hon. MP of Ambae Constituency Jay Ngwele attended the Ambae Road Project groundbreaking ceremony.

H.E.Ambassador Li made a speech and said that the Ambae road would be the first modern highway in this island, which would greatly facilitate the travel of local people and promote economic and social development.

Hon. Acting Prime Minister Johnny Konapo expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Chinese side for the selfless help it has provided over the years for the independence and economic and social development of Vanuatu.

H.E. Ambassador Li also visited Vilakalaka community in west Ambae and donated rice, flour and school bags . The community chiefs, people and students who participated in the relevant activities rejoiced and rallied to celebrate.
