On October 28, 2026, the Training Course on Vegetable Cultivation Technology in Vanuatu, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by Yuan Longping High-Tech Agriculture Co., Ltd., successfully concluded in Port Vila. Acting Deputy Secretary of the Vanuatu Public Service Commission (PSC) Inia Tabiaga , Counsellor Chen Zongwei of the Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu, and Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) Antonio Ravo attended the closing ceremony and delivered remarks.

Deputy Secretary-General Ini stated that China possesses extensive experience in the development of modern agriculture, which Vanuatu is keen to learn from and draw upon. He hoped that the participants would actively promote and apply China’s advanced vegetable cultivation technology to foster the development of agriculture in Vanuatu.

Counsellor Chen noted that, over the 44 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China has implemented a series of agricultural assistance projects in Vanuatu, including the construction of an agricultural college, the provision of agricultural technical and machinery assistance and the delivery of human resources training, all of which have yielded positive results. China will continue to adhere to the principle of ‘teaching people to fish rather than giving them fish’, thereby promoting food security and sustainable agricultural development in Vanuatu.

Counsellor Chen and Acting Deputy Secretary Ini Tabiaga jointly presented certificates of completion to the trainees and visited China-Vanuatu Vegetable Demonstration Field.
