On July 15, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu held a quarterly working consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vanuatu. Ambassador Li Minggang, Counselor Gu Zihua, and Counselor Chen Zongwei attended the meeting, along with the Acting Director General of the Vanuatu Department of Foreign Affairs Joe Pakoa, Director of the Department of Foreign Trade Yvon Basil , among other officials.

Ambassador Li highlighted the strong momentum in China and Vanuatu relations, marked by frequent high-level exchanges, deepening practical cooperation, and Vanuatu’s firm support for the One-China principle. Vanuatu reaffirmed its gratitude for China’s support and commitment to stronger future cooperation.

Both sides pledged to prioritize implementing the outcomes of the Third China-Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and to further advance their comprehensive strategic partnership.
