On 23 July 2025, Madam Lin Ying, wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu, led a delegation of female diplomats, joined the Vanuatu Chinese Women’s Association to visit the Manples Market and donated 100 chairs and 20 tents, in celebration of the 45th anniversary of Vanuatu’s independence. Vanuatu First Lady Mrs. Rima Vurobaravu, the wife of the Speaker of Parliament Mrs. Felix, the wife of the Leader of Opposition Mrs. Kalsakau, the wife of the Minister of Internal Affairs Mrs. Napuat and market vendors attended the event.
Madame Lin extended warm wishes to the people of Vanuatu for Independence Day in advance, praised the strength and resilience of Vanuatu women in both families and society and expressed hope that the friendship between China and Vanuatu would continue to deepen through sincere exchanges and cooperation.
Market manager Mr. Paul sincerely thanked the Chinese Embassy and community for their support to Vanuatu’s women and children, expressed that the donation would improve market conditions, boost people-to-people ties, and strengthen lasting China-Vanuatu friendship.
