On 10 April 2026, Ambassador of China to Vanuatu, H.E. Mr. Li Minggang,paid a courtesy call on the new Director General of the Ministry of of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade Jimmy Rantes.

Ambassador Li noted that in recent years, political mutual trust between China and Vanuatu has been continuously strengthened, with fruitful outcomes achieved in practical cooperation across various fields, including trade, infrastructure development, education and culture. China will continue to uphold the principle of the “Four Full Respects” and work with Vanuatu to deepen all-weather, all-round friendly cooperation and jointly build a closer China–Vanuatu community with a shared future in the new era.

Mr. Rantes expressed his appreciation for China’s long-standing and selfless support for Vanuatu’s economic and social development. He expressed willingness to enhance communication and coordination with China, further deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and deliver greater benefits to both countries and their peoples.
