On May 19,2026, Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Li Minggang meets with theDirector of Department of Tourism Paul Pio.

Ambassador Li stated that Vanuatu is blessed with unique tourism resources and expressed the hope that the Vanuatu side would further strengthen its promotion efforts to attract more visitors to the country. China stands ready to work with Vanuatu to advance the opening of direct flights, improve roads and other infrastructure, and better support the development of Vanuatu’s tourism industry.

Mr. Pio noted that tourism is a pillar industry of Vanuatu’s economic development. The Vanuatu side highly values the Chinese market and is willing to strengthen exchanges and coordination with the Chinese side, deepen cooperation in tourism, and inject new impetus into the friendship between the two countries.
