On 10 July 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu held a handover ceremony for camera equipment donated by China Media Group (CMG) to the Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation (VBTC). Counsellor Gu Zihua of the Chinese Embassy, CMG representative Mr. Lin Qinghui, and Chairman of VBTC Board Mr. John Tau, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Francis Herman and other senior managers attended.

Counsellor Gu Zihua highlighted that media cooperation constitutes an important part of China-Vanuatu relations, the donated camera equipment will make a positive contribution to promoting China-Vanuatu friendship. Mr. Lin Qinghui reviewed the friendly exchanges and cooperation between CMG and VBTC, noting that this donation marked a new starting point for furthering cooperation between two sides.

VBTC expressed appreciation to CMG for the donation and China’s long-standing support. It highlighted that the new equipment would significantly strengthen VBTC’s capacity to cover major events and improve its broadcasting effectiveness. VBTC pledged to make full use of the equipment to promote the friendship between Vanuatu and China.
