On 20 August, the Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu successfully held the Pre-Depature Briefing for Chinese Government Scholarship recipients from Vanuatu. Chinese Ambassador Li Minggang and Vanuatu Minister of Education Simil Johnson attended the event and delivered remarks. Directors of Minister of Education, scholarship recipients and representatives from China-Vanuatu Alumni Association and media representatives all together over 60 guests attended the event.

Ambassador Li congratulated the scholarship recipients and noted that China-Vanuatu educational cooperation has contributed to the cultivation of talent in various fields for Vanuatu. He expressed hope that more Ni-Van students will study in China, contribute to Vanuatu’s development, and become ambassadors of China-Vanuatu friendship.

Minister Johnson expressed sincere appreciation for China’s longstanding support for the development of Vanuatu’s education, and encouraged young Ni-Van students to work hard for Vanuatu’s development, and carry forward the friendship between China and Vanuatu.

During the event, videos introducing study in China, mobile payment and other topics were screened. Representatives of previous Ni-Van scholarship recipients shared their experiences of studying and living in China and answered questions from the participants.
