On 27 August 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu held a working consultation with the Vanuatu Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. Ambassador Li Minggang and Director General of Vanuatu Department of Foreign Affairs Jimmy Rantes attended the meeting.

Ambassador Li highlighted that China and Vanuatu should work together through concrete actions to safeguard and promote the development of the China-Vanuatu Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Vanuatu reaffirmed its gratitude for China’s support and commitment to one-China principle, and pledged to further the friendship between Vanuatu and China.
