From 26 to 27 August 2026, the Chinese Police Expert Team to Vanuatu visited the Tafea provincial police station on Tanna to conduct a two days police skills training program. The training covered a range of practical policing skills, including arrest techniques, vehicle checks and control, personal searches, drone operations, and the operation and use of body-worn cameras. Nearly 20 Vanuatu police officers from Tafea province participated in the training.

Willy, the director of Tafea provincial police station, attended the entire training session and expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Police Expert Team for their support. He noted that this training would effectively enhance officers’ safety and protection capabilities as well as their awareness of standardized law enforcement, and he looked forward to working with the Chinese side to further deepen police cooperation in various fields.

The Chinese Police Expert Team also visited Isangel Central Primary School in Tafea province, where they conducted a community policing activity.
