On September 22, 2026, Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu hosted a reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Chargé d'Affaires of Chinese Embassy Gu Zihua, Vanuatu President Nikenike Vurobaravu, Prime Minister Jotham Napat, Speaker of Parliament Stephen Felix as well as friends from all sectors of Vanuatu, diplomatic corps, representatives of Chinese institutions, and Chinese community attended the reception.
Chargé d'Affaires Gu reviewed the remarkable achievements China has made over the past 77 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China and elaborated on the significance of the four global initiatives. He said that China holds high the banner of peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit, and contributes greater positive energy to world peace and development. China highly appreciates Vanuatu's firm commitment to the one-China principle and stands ready to deepen all-weather and all-round friendly cooperation with Vanuatu and work together to build a China-Vanuatu community with a shared future in the new era.
President Vurobaravu extended congratulations on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and said that Vanuatu has always firmly adhered to the one-China principle. Vanuatu sincerely appreciates China's long-standing and valuable support for Vanuatu's development. The reception also featured promotional videos on Chinese modernization. Delegation from Zigong City, Sichuan Province, which is visiting Vanuatu, showed local featured culture handicrafts and agricultural products.
